I watch the news for an hour a night. I might average another ten hours a week watching the sport channels.Which means I have fifty channels that I never watch.
Hardly good value for money, is it?

Why don't I watch it more? The answer is simple. Stupid ,inane commercials for about 20 minutes out of every hour on tvnz. And while sky doesn't have quite as many they make up for it by telling us about fifty times a night what great programs they've got commong.

And ,as I understand it, MTV will just be more sky channels, and of course an increase in price.

And I remember back in the 1960's. We used to turn TV on at 6 pm every night and sit there staring at the box for five hours every night. And not a single commercial. No wonder half the movie theatres closed down.

Actually the Nnews these days on NZ FTA is hardly worth watching . Seems to have gone the way of the Oz FTA news services.. Usually the lead item is on crime, accidents or a politition farting. Very little overseas news unless it is a beatup on the US. Seems to be a newzine these days aimed at the lowest denominator who has an attention span of 1 minute..

459041 2006-06-06 02:35:00 If you ask me, ditch Sky. Spend the money on a larger Broadband data cap and download what you want to watch, and watch it when you choose to not when they tell you too, chances are you will enjoy it far more for less (not saying I do it of course).

I understand that's illegal or something but meh, Sky isn't worth it anyway.
