Not really.
He reports it to Paradise, they check and see if the problem is with themselves, if not they log the fault with Telecom.
Thats how it works with all other ISPs.

Quite correct pctek, surprised a computer tech was not aware of that.
If the customer calls telecom with a broadband fault they will always get told to contact their ISP.

700453 2008-08-28 08:36:00 Interleaving has nothing to do with ADSL2 speeds
Whether you get ADSL2 speeds depends on if this is active on your exchange.

It does if you have one of the ADSL2+ modems with the dud chipset.

I had a D-Link model (can't remember which one) and my line speed was 7616kb/s when the DSLAM was ADSL1. (7616kb/s is the max. for ADSL1)

On changing to ADSL2+, the speed dropped to 7547kb/s, a new modem has increased that to over 11Mb/s

Apparently the chipset was a "pre-standard" one - I only found out later that changing to non-interleaved would have fixed it.

700454 2008-08-28 08:43:00 Actually, if anyone has ANY brand of ADSL2+ modem that shows a line speed of 7547kb/s, you should be suspicious of the above fault.

Test your line with an ADSL1 modem and if it shows 7616kb/s, then either ask for your money back for the 2+ modem or get interleaving turned OFF.
