700368 2008-08-26 01:10:00 In theory the A70 can utilise FAT32 formatted CF but it will use FAT16 for in camera formatting. The problem with the A70 is as seltsam says it's an older model and all the discussion when it was really popular was whether or not it could use the really expensive new 1GB cards :)

There's something not right with your formatting or card reader if even out of the camera you can't see more than 1.88GB

Has your A70 ever had the faulty Sony CCD problem yet where all pictures have streaks of black or purple? If not I would seriously reconsider trusting it on a trip like that.

So was mine when it failed. You don't get much warning, it's OK then a picture later it's not. Mine actually failed before the improved substitute part was available so it failed again. Take a spare or have a Plan B.

700376 2008-08-26 04:21:00 Some 4GB cards had a switch so they could be used as 2 x 2GB in a FAT camera. No idea if Kingston did this. PaulD (232)
700377 2008-08-26 04:40:00 I have my doubts it is a genine Kingston product, packaging has lots of chinese writing on it and they are good at producing fakes.
I have taken it to a camera shop and they tested it and got the same size as I did.
Thanks for all the help guys :)
