2006-06-01 12:50:00 | Ok, its out now! So much for the notice that said 17 hours! **mejobloggs checks ubuntu.com "Ubuntu 6.06 LTS released". Wohooo! Dated: "2005-06-01". Whaaaa? I am a year late in getting 6.06? :( Someone should have told me sooner.

2006-06-03 01:41:00 | Just need to change your /etc/apt/sources.list from breezy to dapper. Then apt-get update && apt-get upgrade Already running it, it's very very nice  I followed your instructions, and now there is a problem with Xorg - it fails to start. If anyone can help me, I'll pm you my root password. Hopefully my dns update thing is still running OK. greven.servegame.com

2006-06-03 05:43:00 | Reinstall your video driver (nVidia or ATI). If your distro doesn't handle the drivers automatically, then each time you upgrade your kernel you need to reinstall the video driver so that it is compiled against the current running kernel. Failing that, take a look at the end of your /var/log/Xorg.0.log for specific error messages.

2006-06-03 07:36:00 | Hmm, I can't get the iso's of Ubuntu or Kubuntu to work with VMWare... It just crashes as soon as I load up the vmx file. Bugger  | bob_doe_nz (92) | |
2006-06-04 05:13:00 | EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Make sure you type dist-upgrade rather than upgrade . The process will totally hose your machine and render it *completely unbootable* otherwise. Just a word of caution so you don't hose your system like I did to mine. It didn't render it unbootable, but X is screwed & I get error messages every time I log into the console. Just need to change your /etc/apt/sources.list from breezy to dapper. Then apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

2006-06-04 11:41:00 | Hey can someone gimme the MD5 sums for the Ubuntu and Kubuntu distros from the ftp link DanielF gave. You should be able to get the md5sum from the official site My ubuntu box lives again. it was revived by apt-get dist-upgrade I don't like the new default colour scheme (would you call it orange, or peach, or apricot?), but I can't remember what the old colour scheme was - I liked that.

2006-06-05 05:07:00 | Hmm I think that the dapper drake version of Kubuntu from ftp.citylink.co.nz is faulty, I ran the cd scan through VMware and it found one error. When I compared that with the official one from Kubuntu's site, its different.
