700010 2008-08-24 21:12:00 "XP Antivirus" is NOT antivirus - but spyware disguised as av.

Download and run Malwarebytes and the 30-day trial of Eset Nod32 to try and remove it.

After that, remove Eset and install the free Avast Home Edition.

So what fix did you do to get rid of the malware?
A new install of Windows, cause it sounds to me like you deleted C: partition and did a new install which has caused the boot partition to be D:.

Anyway getting malware doesn't "totally stuff the computer".

700012 2008-08-24 22:03:00 Another thing that can cause this is group policy settings - we do just this at work to stop the students messing with things they shouldn't be. The net result is that the drive is still there, and behaving as it should be, but completely invisible and inaccessable via normal means. Erayd (23)
