1429988 2016-12-18 02:58:00 TL;DR: The windows 10 alarm app doesn't work for me.

I use an AIO PC in my bedroom for watching TV & Movies etc and also as a handy alarm clock, it used to work fine but lately I'm having some weird issues.
Here's a link if anyone is curious about the hardware h10010.www1.hp.com (not so relevant as it's all working fine).

Running OEM Windows 10 and all up to date.

The Setup:
I set the BIOS to power up the PC on weekday mornings at 6:45 (this part is flawless and a handy feature)
I set the weather app and web browser to launch on startup by copying their shortcuts into the startup folder (and both launch ok)
I set the browser home page to the rocks live streaming feed turning my PC into a radio alarm clock
I set an alarm for 6:48 using the inbuilt app in case there's a problem with the live feed or internet connection (happens often enough)

The problems:
First the alarm stopped working, but I didn't worry as the rest works and is enough to wake me usually
Next the live stream stopped working properly, it would still launch but until you manually make that the active tab no sound would start, kinda makes sense but weird that it just randomly started happening. Was using IE as I never bothered installing anything else to begin with and I don't think Edge is living up to it's promises.

I've fixed the live stream issue by switching to Chrome, making sure the streaming tab is the first open tab set as my home page, and setting the browser to launch last. Trouble is it'll never be 100% reliable as sometimes my wi-fi needs reconnecting and sometimes the stream is down, also if the home page gets changed there goes my alarm.

So finally the crux of the matter, the windows 10 alarms & clock app which I was relying on as a backup to the streaming radio will not trigger an alarm, notifications are on and the app is set to use them, but nothing happens. I installed another app from the store and it didn't work either. If I set a test alarm for 2 mins time and watch it tick over all that happens is the 1 time alarm turns itself off thinking the job is finished.

Something else that occurs to me is to set up a music player and playlist to autorun instead if anyone has any tips on how to get that working, Ideally just random play from a directory that I can alter wheneve ri feel the need.

1429989 2016-12-18 03:27:00 Never tried the alram personally, BUT if the PC is waking from Off OK Via the BIOS, a workaround for the sound is go into the Sound options ( control Panel) select play a sound on Startup. Select what ever loud tune, or what ever and it would play.

You know, the one for years we all used to disable LOL

1429990 2016-12-19 21:02:00 Maybe notifications not being received? So notifications turned on (in the App), but present in Settings – System – Notifications & Actions? wondering if corrupt. May need registry fix for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\PushNotifications kahawai chaser (3545)
