1428941 2016-11-20 01:31:00 I cannot look at my Outlook Email as it opens and reopens continually. By the time I have had a look to see what email I have, it has opened again and I am not able to open any new emails. Hopefully there is someone out there who knows what's going on and is able to give me a remedy. Thanks lads. Roscoe (6288)
1428942 2016-11-20 06:31:00 Try this -- Open the Run Command from Start or Search, type Outlook /safe Click OK

If it opens and stays open you need to go into the Add-ins and disable them all, enable one at a time, restart Outlook Normally Carry on untill it plays up again. Thats the culprit.

Depending on what version of Outlook you have will depend on how to get to the Add-in settings.

If you are using 2013 -2016 View-manage-and-install-add-ins-in-Office-programs (support.office.com)

1428943 2016-11-20 22:50:00 Thank you, Wainui. I have found the add-ins but when I try to disable them I receive this message: "The add-in is installed for all users on this computer and can only be connected or disconnected by an administrator." So how do I get to be an administrator? Roscoe (6288)
1428944 2016-11-21 00:55:00 Just looking on Mine which is Outlook 2016, once open in safe mode, Options /Add-ins, Down the bottom COM Add-ins, to the right is GO, clicking that opens a window where you can untick any add-in.

No Prompts for anything.

1428945 2016-11-21 04:19:00 Thank you. Yes I can see where you mean but it says that only an administrator can make those changes, so how do I become an administrator as it won't let me do it? Roscoe (6288)
1428946 2016-11-21 21:27:00 make a shortcut or batch file with outlook.exe /safe , run that as admin

or turn of UAC & make sure your login has admin rights (that may not be enough ? )

1428947 2016-11-22 01:10:00 You can also do the following, go to the actual Outlook.exe file. Depending on what OS you are using, in Search type in outlook, right click it Open File Location, if its W10 you may have to do it twice till you get to the actual exe not the shortcut.

Once there, hold down the left Ctrl key, Right click /Run as administrator, you should be prompted by saying you are holding down the Ctrl key, do you want to run in safe mode -Yes ( let the ctrl go now). It will open in safemode /Admin.

1428948 2016-11-22 22:12:00 Thank you, Wainui. I found the Outlook.exe and when I right click I receive the option run as administrator and when I click on that it says that it can't run the programme because the MSVCP90.dll is missing. When I go to download it, I am directed to a site that wants to charge me $40 for malware repairing software that I don't want. Are you able to tell me where I can go to receive a free download? Your help is appreciated. Roscoe (6288)
1428949 2016-11-22 22:53:00 NEVER download any dll file from download sites, heaven knows what you may actually be getting.

Only from the real sources Have a read of the following page ; www.lifewire.com (www.lifewire.com) Theres a link in the article to the real download from Microsoft. The 2008 version should work ( as in the link)

Failing that, do a google search for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package You'll get a 2010 version either x86 or x64, that may work.
