1429923 2016-12-19 05:01:00 Posts crossed there Rod, but on reflection my problems started when one site, (I’m trying to remember which one), advised that I needed the latest version of Flashplayer to view their site, so I agreed, and they took me straight to the Adobe Site and I noticed the latest version was the same for all platforms including 32bit and 64bit.

It chose the version and since then I have a total balls up because Sites that were working aren’t any more.

I’ve never been to “TVNZ On Demand” before and after my initial experience I’m hardly likely to be a convert. :D

1429924 2016-12-19 06:13:00 Try, In Firefox, Open Menu/Preferences/Content/DRM content - Tick Play DRM content.

I'm posting this using robolinux32-xfce-3d-v8.7 live disk, not sure yet whether it's good or not but Firefox 49 working ok.

uTube playing music with DRM unticked and no Adobe Plugin that I know of.

Well, thanks for that zqwerty! :clap

I'm updating this thread to report that the above DRM option in Firefox (v50.1.0) does work in Linux (presumably in Windows too) to allow you to play DRM protected videos using HTML5 (not Adobe Flash). That DRM option must be a recent change in Firefox that escaped my notice (I could be wrong about that though). Anyway, I've tried playing TVNZ On Demand videos on three different Linux systems I have and they can all play TVNZ On Demand stuff without any hassles at all (for now anyway).

When right clicking on the video the player is reported as HTML5 and Brightcove is being used.

1429927 2016-12-27 00:48:00 Choice TV is another matter as it needs Widevine which is a pita to get going on anything really from MS to Linux

I discovered that by ticking the "Play DRM content" box in Firefox (v50.1.0), Preferences, Content page, that Choice On Demand TV works fine here in Kubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS. Also, when I had a look at the Add-ons installed the "Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc." is installed now.
