| 1430452 | 2017-01-05 23:33:00 | Hi there, I deleted an email account I had set up with the Windows 8.1 Mail App after I discovered using it meant duplicate emails weren't also being stored on my ISPs server. I deleted the account from Windows Mail in hast, then realised I now couldn't see any of my old emails. Is there any easy way to reinstate this account in Windows 8.1 to get back my history of emails or are they now lost forever? | DakotaNZ (17161) | ||
| 1430453 | 2017-01-06 03:41:00 | I deleted the account from Windows Mail Where you wrote that, do you mean you had a mail program, something like Windows live mail, as well as the mail app ? If its only the mail App, try looking in the following. Some of these are hidden folders so you'll need to make them visible first. Navigate to: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Packages\micro soft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe\Local State\Indexed\LiveComm Have a look through the folders, you should find a set of folders, Account, Mail, People. In Mail, You'll see numbered folders your Mail should be there if its anywhere. As for reactivating the account, simply recreate it, all details as before. The same is for W10, but W10 uses .dat files. Edited: for some reason this site is adding spaces in some of the above address, there are no spaces. |
