| 1429949 | 2016-12-17 02:00:00 | Hi All I Have an Icon for Pictures & another for Photos. The My Pictures (Pictures) is what I have always had, & from here I can edit & print. Photos has appeared thro something I must have done. I can view pics in this Photos but can't do anything with them. The pictures are not the same in each icon folder. What could I have possibly done. Is this something to do with Cloud. Thanks PJ. |

If you right click on a folder and choose properties, then go to the customise tab, you can choose what type of files are stored in that folder and it's sub directories and you can also change the Icon. This changes the options windows will give you when using those files as well. Try that and see if it helps. In your case choose Optimise this folder for Pictures from the drop down, tick the box to apply to sub folders, and click ok. | dugimodo (138) | ||

I have taken Birthday photos & Xmas Day photos & they all load into Photos Folder not W10 Pictures Folder. In Photos I can select them but cannot do anything with them. I have moved the Photos folder into pictures But still no go. Where did this Photos thingy come from? I had Paint & Paint.net, but deleted them as I didn't like them. Could that be the problem? PJ |

That should add your photo's folder to your pictures library and make it accessible from there with the same options in theory. Did you try optimising the photo's folder for pictures as in my previous suggestion? My pictures folder is empty because all my pictures are on a network drive, but I can still choose to edit or print them. Maybe the files are in a different format to your other pictures, are they all .jpg files or something else? |

Clicking on one of the "Photos" brings a drop down but no "properties" on it. PJ |

| 1429954 | 2016-12-29 22:28:00 | Ah, clicking on the icon gets me properties. No Customise But does have change icon. There is a whole screed of stuff that I don't understand the relevance. PJ | Poppa John (284) | ||
| 1429955 | 2016-12-29 22:49:00 | If you right click one of the files in question is there not an edit or print option in the menu? If not choosing "open with" and then selecting the program you want to edit with might be a work around. When you say you can do it from the pictures folder how do you do it exactly? I'm surprised no one else has chimed in, I was hoping someone else might know what's going on because I'm running low on Ideas. |
