Anybody in the know or who has got one recently can share info on any bargains to be had / horrors to be avoided? |

2016-11-08 07:13:00 | I have a P8 lite and its been great so far. Wife has a Vodafone Smart Ultra due to large screen size and relatively cheap cost also runs very well. We both use 2D as our provider. | gary67 (56) | |
2016-11-08 07:40:00 | Cheers. Both a little more than he currently has to spend, but I might try to convnce him it may be worth saving his pennies a little longer to get a better deal overall.

2016-11-08 07:50:00 | Yes cheap phones are often slow phones and lack storage. Both of ours are expandable using micro SD. Chill and Wratterus have the Xiomi? I think imported for around $200 but need to be flashed. | gary67 (56) | |

2016-11-08 19:35:00 | Three of us in our family have the Samsung J1 Ace with either 2 degrees or Vodafone. All of us are really happy with them. Prices varied depending upon vendor/timing of purchase with specials, but usually around $170. I see they are available at The Warehouse for $140 to $199 at present. Another member of our family has been issued with the J2 by his employer - I think they are about $249 so outside the budget you quote. We all paid to have a ?glass? screen cover attached, and have found these to be very effective.

2016-11-08 21:11:00 | I went down this path a few months back, wanted bigger screen & cam with better low light capability , didnt want to spend much. I bought a used Samsung S4 on trademe for well under $200 . Good screen :high res & good size 5" , good camera, 4G . NFC, so to copy settings from my old ph, just put them back to back always some risk buying used ph's though

2016-11-09 00:35:00 | Highly, highly recommend the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 or their Redmi 3S. Get them from AliExpress, the ones where I pay a few bucks extra to get here via DHL will take ~72 hours usually! You won't get a better phone in the <$500 range, but the Redmi 3 or 3S will only set you back ~$200!
