701166 2008-08-29 02:10:00 How can I deny access to a disk partition - preferably using the registry?

I still want it to appear in Windows Explorer, but when clicked on, display the "restrictions" error message . The computer in question is used by several people, but they all need to be administrators :annoyed:

Is it possible to do this for all user accounts created in the future also?

Windows XP Home Edition SP3

TIA

701167 2008-08-29 02:11:00 Dont think you'll get far using XP Home. Pro could probably do it

You'll have to use a 3rd party program

701169 2008-08-29 02:27:00 Pass, truecrypt might do it (http://www.truecrypt.org/) Speedy Gonzales (78)
701170 2008-08-29 02:49:00 What would I do in XP Pro?

It's worth a try to see if it works :)

701171 2008-08-29 02:57:00 Wouldnt have a clue, you would probably use Group policy or Local security settings.

And change other users access somewhere

I've never used these myself

Info on what to do / how to use them will be on the MS site / help file in XP Pro

701172 2008-08-29 03:14:00 Admin has full rights to ALL local disks......however, if you make the partition the storage for your docs, making your docs personal will encrypt them, and should deny access for other administrators.....I could be work there though.. SolMiester (139)
