462069 2006-06-10 15:25:00 A cop busted a biker who (the cop claimed) resisted arrest after a baggie of cocaine was seen peeking from the top of his pocket during the stop.

When he went to court, he protested that it was "illegal search and seizure", grounds that if proven, would be a illegal and therefor dismissable arrest.

The biker's plea? He told the judge: "I have been a professional drug dealer for over 20 years; does the court honestly think that I would allow drugs to show or be seen by a police officer who had no other cause to stop and search me?"

The judge stated that he indeed believed that the guy was a professional drug dealer and would not make such a blatant mistake and dismissed the case as police harassment.

Gotta quote Yakov Smirnoff (www.yakov.com) here: "Only in America".

462070 2006-06-10 21:36:00 Was the judge a client of the bikers enterprise? Could be, he's probably in the right income group. personthingy (1670)
462071 2006-06-10 21:45:00 ...Hmmmmmmmm....

Probably the same judge who officiated in the following case too:

A merchant, tired of constant break-ins and after-hours robberies, having had guard dogs killed or poisoned, fixed a 12 gauge shotgun to a trip wire and rigged it to the skylight that he had pretty well secured from break-ins.

Sure as to be expected, a burglar broke in thru the skylight, tripped the wire and blew both of his legs off.

In court the burglar protested that now since his means of earnings had been destroyed (who'd hire a thief with no legs?) and he could no longer continue in his life-long career as a thief/burglar/robber, he sued for loss of income and future retirement benefits. He proffered that the store owner was responsible and should pay for the damages.

He won....

You've got to be kidding. How can people read that trash?
I clicked to see why some bust was bad.
Anyway this stuff would of course be in America I bet.

Maybe it's just American English v NZ English here.

You see, here in the US, "bust" is reference to the protuberances on a female chest....

ergo, I thought the tag crawlers might've found this word when people were looking for......er.....nevermind.

OK . . . I think I've lost sight of the mental imagery here now .

1) People read WHAT? . . Busts? . . . is this like palm reading?

2) Lots of people even buy them? Yup! The plastic surgery for breast enlargement is a thriving business here in LaLa land .
