I looked on the NZ Sony site but found conflicting info on this set. One spec says it has and the other it hasn't. I know that the Bravia V does but it's way outside my price range,. In Europe they have the Bavia X that does 1920 x 1080 but I suspect that this will demand gold pricing if it ever gets released here in NZ..

TIA

lol....Im guessing it could well be at least $5000

Hopefully we will be getting the US XBR2 models rather than the European X series as the latter is only available in 46-inches and as you said would be hugely expensive. However, the US 2006 line has 40-inch models which have three HDMI inputs and a better picture engine that, if released in NZ, should be about the same price as last year's V series. :)

Thanx for the info. Couldn't find much on the XBR2 but the XBR3 is due in the US in the Sept 2006. Good specs..

461811 2006-06-09 05:32:00 If the initial release specs are anything to go by, the XBR3 has a shiny black "piano" finish and will cost US$300 more. Other than that the XBR2 models are the same, but in silver with the option of five colored screen frames - these may also be available for the European 46-inch X series, but they were announced with the US Bravia models.

All the US info is on this page: www.sonystyle.com
