462461 2006-06-12 08:36:00 My two UPS's have been cutting in and out every few minutes all day, protecting the PCs from the the numerous power system

my UPS switched in and out all night long, every time causing a very loud beep.

3am I got pissed off of turn off the whole rig.

theanswerguy.co.nz got a 4 hour outage and i got 4 hours of sleep.

project for this weekend is remove the beep from the UPS.

462462 2006-06-12 08:37:00 Craphouse how the 3 hour power failure in Auckland made up the first 15 minutes of the news, Firstly those affected already know, and no one else cares, Everywhere has a power failure every so often. Live with it.

The 19000 down south who are snowed in and without power overnight is far more newsworthy, they got a 3 second nod on the news, after we had all the melodrama from up north...Oh Noes, cant get to work....Who the hell cares....
My sentiments entirely!

462464 2006-06-12 09:05:00 Yes I'm absolutely amazed that the One Jafa News led with a story about some power outage in Jafaville. Not only is a power outage and snow far more impressive - but frankly the main story of the day for me was that Rooney kicked Walcott in training and has injured him for 48 hours. Come on guys - the only worry about a power cut was would they get it back on for when Oz play at 1 am tomorrow morning. Oh and by the way - it was windy here in Welly and we didn't even notice a change from the usual. Twelvevolts (5457)
462465 2006-06-12 09:13:00 I bet the Jafa news syndicate were pleased something happened up there, they must have been a bit annoyed that handbag wielding grunts were taking up the limelight a bit. Now that the media is focused on them they can wail about their roads and power and... kwaka (10149)
462466 2006-06-12 09:17:00 Well if i had known that AK were kind enough to help conserve power in such a selfless way, i would have gone into the sleepout where there's an electric heater and enjoyed some luxury warmth.. O well silly me...

Hoorah for AK anyway... Hoorah!

462467 2006-06-12 09:34:00 Who cares about auckland its happened to them before and its happened again and i dare say it will probably happen again if auckland cant get their **** together and get a back up power supply for that jafa city then thats their problem no need to cry about it on the news, the only reason it made the news was because the limelight was focused on the snow in christchurch for the first hour on breakfast this morning so auckland decided to come up with a plan to make the news for themselves again to have a good old whinge about something that will never be fixed.Obviously tonight not all of jafa land have got all their power back on yet cause theirs hardly anyone on this site tonight and my internet speed is faster too. Methinks my computer needs more of my time - it's feeling neglected since the World Cup started. What is there to go outside for anyway?
