461088 2006-06-07 06:16:00 Just for those who seem to forget:

By registering as a user you agree to abide by the following rules:

1) Keep it friendly: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. If you feel a thread or post is offensive do not respond in kind. Use the Report this post link to alert a moderator. Personal attacks on members, moderators or staff will not be tolerated and may result in immediate cancelling of forum membership.

Not everyone who visits PF1 has English as a first language, not everyone is adept at English as you may be. Rather than be rude, just ask if they could clarify their post if it is difficult to understand. PressF1 is here to help everyone and members should not be made to feel unwelcome with such comments. What happened to tolerance and patience?

Good advice. BUT:-
I have dealt with many people who did not have English as a second language - for some years I was writing standards for the European
Aircraft industry - which meant I had to write in a manner that could be easily translated and understood in at least 5 languages. I do not detect somebody who is using English as a second language here.
I know it's boring sometimes to do the right thing. Often the only way to deal with a boring task is to make the result the best you possibly can. As a designer I HATED the final listing of Bills of Materials or schedules of parts. I made sure that mine were the best in the company! So enjoyed a normally boring task. When we see poor use of English I and others of my generation do not intend to be rude - it's just that we feel a huge sense of sadness and a desire to help.
Old Pop Terry - my teacher when I was 11 probably felt the same - he would have dealt with us by using the cane for misspelling. The better the student the more the tickler came out. We loved him and would have followed him over a cliff edge if he had asked us. Nowadays standards have slipped terribly and political correctness means we must never upset anybody.
But please let's not destroy the language.

461090 2006-06-07 23:32:00 Jennifer simply wanted to go to "google" quicker I think.

If you type "www.google.com" it sends you to "www.google.co.nz".

I suggests she sets "www.google.co.nz" as her homepage or as a favorite in IE or Bookmark in FF.

461091 2006-06-08 07:30:00 Why not download the google task bar?
