460922 2006-06-06 09:12:00 I stopped wearing a watch when I started my mechanic apprenticeship. Got scared when I heard story of guy with metal strap watch 'shorting' out and burnt his wrist.

Now when anyone asks me the time - I look up at the sun and take an educated guess. The gulliable think its amazing - those that know me think I am full of s**t. I agree with those that know me.

Always have cellphone, radio going and clock in the car. Time goes so fast whats the point in knowing the time - it will only change next time you ask.

460924 2006-06-06 11:26:00 If you were a successful entrepreneur who would you do business with, the person wearing the $10 Warehouse watch or the one wearing the Audemars Piguet:

Wearing expensive understated jewellery is a way of communicating your previous success to those you wish to impress in order to get more riches, surely.

460925 2006-06-06 11:42:00 There is a slight difference between that and say a tasteless Tag Heuer that could easily be an Asian knock-off.

Besides, you could buy a very nice car for what an Audemars Piguet costs. Nothing against people with money, but when it comes to 'bang for your buck' let me see... car... watch... car... watch... err, I think I'll take the car thanks

460926 2006-06-06 12:02:00 You would already have a Mercedes or BMW to go with the watch, you are now going for your luxury yacht. zqwerty (97)
460927 2006-06-06 12:58:00 Personally I like the look of a good watch. But I don't wear mine - my computer clock is all I need.

The watch I own has been sitting on a side table for the last five or six years - it's a Seiko - runs brilliantly, and is about 25 years old. Still looks stylish, but the best thing about it is that I got it for free - the jeweller that gave it to me was a customer I had when I was in the retail liquor industry. I used to give him quality wines at greatly discounted prices, and his gift to me was a thank-you. :)

460928 2006-06-06 20:55:00 Well mine is a Rolex Oyster, bought it 45 years ago and it still keeps good time, nobody that I am aware of has ever noticed.
Which is a pity,it would have been nice to feel a bit superior. :D

460930 2006-06-06 21:59:00 Well I've got a gold Rolex. Bought it in Singapore for about $10.
On the odd occasion that I have worn it people have believed it's genuine.
That makes ME feel stupid. People think I'm stupid for wearing a $20,000 watch.
