460864 2006-06-06 02:58:00 People that can survive a month on say 200MB data cap are probably way better off sticking to dialup as they barely use the net anyway.I think that the "always on" internet and never engaged phone would sell a lot of low usage people on this plan. I'm going to look at getting some of my surviving grandparents onto this (or similar).

460865 2006-06-06 03:37:00 lol I suggest you have a really good think about doing that!, as they will be charged for excess usage.

Very few people on broadband use less than 200Mb a month. Faster speeds means faster browsing (more browsing) which equals more usage.

200Mb is a REALLY small data allowance over a month even for so called light users.

These types of ridiculous cheap unworkable data caps plans are just making the Broadband numbers look better and cloud over the real problems. Cheap tactics, booooo Orcon.

460867 2006-06-06 06:31:00 ha..i've seen way way larger usage logs than that~
i'm pretty sure the only safe way to use 200mb in one month is to just use email and nothing els..maybe nzherald with images off

be funny if like..xp sp3 came out and xp decide to download that automatically and push people over cap :p

That may be, but most of us are commenting on the only plan they have announced

Secondly what do you prefer, super cheap crap broadband or good quality at a more fair price?

200MB falls into the crap category well and truly, and fully deserves to get flammed, and Xtra doing it as well is not really a great excuse.
