701036 2008-08-28 06:40:00 Hi, I was just wondering if there was any way that I can stop people from changing my videos, eg. removing parts of it. Because I am creating videos/movies and have added titles with my name on them and don't want anyone who I have distributed them to to remove my hard work. Does anyone know of a program? Thanks. 701037 2008-08-28 06:47:00 You are welcome to try Craig but I am sure that as the whole of the movie industry has already found out, once a video is available to the public it is available to be shared, copied, edited, remixed..etc etc. There is software around that can slow the process down for a bit but at the end of the day - nothing is going to stop some teen from re mixing your stuff once you make it available.
here are some options

You can probably water mark it if you wanted

701039 2008-08-28 07:03:00 True, I might just add a watermark, thanks. Craig Mellor (13762)
701040 2008-08-28 07:09:00 The watermarking in a video can be "removed" by Batch processing in Photoshop. The effectiveness of the finished job depends on the Photoshop users ability. Personally much like DRM on music tracks - I wouldn't bother wasting my time or money doing it. Unless you just have a very small watermark that doesn't interfere with watching the video, kind of like what TV3 and TV1 do in their shows every night. inbound (14099)
701041 2008-08-28 07:26:00 Oh yea. I might not bother then, I might just have to trust the people... Thanks. Craig Mellor (13762)
701042 2008-08-28 08:24:00 The only benefit of water marking your video is that it clearly identifies it as being yours - incase you want to take someone to court for using it for their own purposes or for financial gain. The only downside of that is that it will cost you a small fortune in legal fees to defend your copyright.
If someone wants to download and copy/mix/edit/make fun of your video clips or what ever then they will do it because they can.
Every one else will just download, watch and enjoy.
