The customer has 2 PCs and wishes to share the USB Canon MFC between the 2 PCs Has anyone used /recommend any particular brand I have no experience of these but am assuming it will be little different to the old parallel switching devices Are there any pitfalls?? | 701688 | 2008-08-31 23:50:00 | What you want is something Like this here (www.computerstore.co.nz) - I have one similar ( different make) in a couple of peoples places to share USB printers, and dont want them to be networked, they work fine, as you dont have to have the "master PC" turned on for the other to print- only downfall is sometimes they forget which PC has the printer activated | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 701690 | 2008-09-01 01:33:00 | Hi Remember a few years ago, I got one from DSE here in New Zealand. Tried to find it in their latest catalogue but seems they don't stock it anymore. Came under the name of XH6820 DSE USB 2.0 HUB. This hub had a manual switch so you could connect any two computers to up to four accessories. This would allow two computers to share printers etc. Now here's the strange thing, even though DSE don't have this item in their new catalogue they still have the support page for it. Goto HERE. (www.dse.co.nz) Exactly what your client needs. Perhaps DSE might get one for him. Had no problems with mine. Hope this helps. BURNZEE |

It would leave a lot of people high & dry if they removed the support pages as soon as they stopped selling a product . |
