| 701402 | 2008-08-30 10:26:00 | I recently reinstalled Ad-Aware and once I'd updated it and run it it found this thing, Win32/TrojanDownloader.Delf - it removed it but found it again on the next scan and again removed it. I've done a couple of scans since and it hasn't found it again. What does this thing do? Now that Ad-Aware seems to have removed it, has it really gone? Is there some other scan I can do to check? Do I have to manually remove any bits that may have been left behind? Here's a Hijack This log just in case :) Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 9:52:21 PM, on 8/30/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16705) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\aawservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security\UfSeAgnt.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\DNA\btdna.exe C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security\SfCtlCom.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\devldr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\UPHClean\uphclean.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\BM\TMBMSRV.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\TmPfw.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security\TmProxy.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\TrendSecure\TSCFCommander.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\TrendSecure\TSCFPlatformCOMSvr.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://clear.net.nz/ R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = go.microsoft.com R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = go.microsoft.com R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! | 701403 | 2008-08-30 11:23:00 | Quick Look at the Log looks Ok, No nasties anyway Heres what it is (www.econsultant.com)- disable system restore - right click on My computer/Properties/System Restore tab, disable - it may reinfect on reboot. Download Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D from my sig, update and do a full system Scan, as well as with your Ad-aware, just to make sure. |

| 701404 | 2008-08-31 09:39:00 | Cheers, I already had Spybot and that didn't even pick it up before I ran Adaware. Done everything you suggested and nothing has been found :) Thanks for your help. |
