| 464125 | 2006-06-18 09:40:00 | Hi Team, While reading a book entitled "Of mice and men", I am at lost over the description of the appearance of a woman. If possible, could someone please draw her out? "She had full, rouged lips and wide-spaced eyes, heavily made up. Her fingernails were red. Her hair hung in little rolled clusters, like sausages. She wore a cotton house dress and red mules, on the insteps of which were little bouquets of red ostrich feathers." Cheers :) |

The one dressed like a tart with bad fashion taste! Come on out with your hands up! This is the fashion police here! You are under arrest! OK, that didn't work ... |

| 464128 | 2006-06-18 10:12:00 | Sounds to me like Shirley Temple grew up and saw a bit of the world  A more modern description might go like this: She had big lips with red lip stick to match her red fingernail polish and her eyes were well- spaced wide apart. Her hair in tight ringlets or curls like she had just taken the rollers out. She wore a plain shapeless cotton dress and red flat soled shoes with small bunches of red fluffy ostrich feathers stuck to the sides. (sounds a bit like Metlas pink slippers to me!) HTH |

But to give you a clue, think Westerns and the ladies (of the night) who hung over the railings inviting the men up as they rode into town. Add half a tonne of lipstick and eye makeup, and you would be pretty close |
