462963 2006-06-14 08:25:00 I've just bought a set of speakers.

Can someone give me an URL or two where I can listen to big band music from the 1930's /40's ?

Not worried about downloading it. Just want to listen.

Thanks,

462964 2006-06-14 09:30:00 What media player do you have?....most have a radio button, where you can brows streaming stations by genre.

And then there is Google.

www.google.co.nz

I have found a number of stations round the globe that stream perfetly into NZ, and about a billion that don't.

462965 2006-06-14 09:34:00 Wait....you have been spending thousands of dollars every six months to improve the graphics on one single game and the entire time you have been playing the damn game with no audio?

Pure silence?

That's right. I'm half deaf now thanks to aircraft engines roaring in my ears,so I can do very nicely without them.

I only have windows media player. That should handle all I want.
I tried Google without success.

I hope you don't end up wishing you had never asked. :)

Try these to start with:

www.jazz-on-line.com

http://great-song-stylists-uk.com/

http://dismuke.org/

Many music sites though use real audio files, and for those you need Real Alternative:

www.free-codecs.com

462969 2006-06-14 11:25:00 A site for streaming audio is http://www.live365.com

Most every genre of music is on there. If you dont subscribe then some stations are not available or are restricted in numbers listening, and there will be ads.

A lot of 1930s and 40s music that was in the public domain in America, has been brought back into copyright, so the choices for download today are not as great as a few years ago.
