462908 2006-06-14 01:22:00 Cold cold cold,

This morning bought a new first for me, no hotwater owing to frozen pipes on the roof, and no low pressure cold owing to (you guessed it)

We've seen about a third of the country lose power, and when i rang Oxford last night, i heard that they had a day and a half without power, they're snowed in still, and they still don't have cellphones or DSL (poor souls, how do they cope?), allthough landlines are still working, just. All this just half an hours drive from central CHCH, where all we just got a light dusting of snow.

So let's hear how others got effected by all this silly weather stuff ;)

462909 2006-06-14 01:45:00 Not cold enough to get out of work, but cold enough to make it damn miserable.

Plus I have a cold. :groan:

462910 2006-06-14 02:10:00 While I do know the trials & tribulations of being snowed in, frozen water pipes & no electricity or phone ( & would probably be experiencing those right now if I was on my Central Otago patch), the honour of Dunedin requres me to report that the sun is shining here & the ground is dry.

No, I'm not crowing.
It's just that Dunedin usually gets such a bad press weatherwise that we have to advertise that Winter's not consistently cold.
(Mind you, I doubt that my new neighbours from Tonga would agree...It's all relative, after all)

462911 2006-06-14 02:26:00 Sunny here too today. Quite pleasant.
Ngapara had snow again yesterday.

Southland Times says snow flurries for Invy on Friday. However I've noticed their weather forecasts seem to be 75% wrong...

VERY cold out of the sun but surprisingly warm in it today. Got all bundled up at 10am to put the washing out and nearly cooked myself. :p

You can't blame me though, as at 9am it was still only -2 deg and I had to virtually drag a customer inside by the ear rather than freeze my arse off at the back door when he declined to come in.
