| 463722 | 2006-06-19 00:33:00 | I dialled up to a handful of BBS systems for shareware and even considered setting up my own one later. I even had a Compuserve account many years back. I then used Voyager, then ClearNet and now Xtra. | KiwiTT_NZ (233) | ||

| 463725 | 2006-06-19 03:05:00 | Started out with BBS (bulletin boards) in 1993 using a 2400bps modem using an Amiga 600HD - can't recall many of the BBS names, but I think Holden's Lair rings a bell... Shifted (reluctantly) to PCs in 1997 for university, and connected to the WWW for the first time, using Ihug dial-up. BBS were rife with piracy, particularly for Amiga's, but I seem to recall that people weren't as bothered about piracy back in the days of the 3.5" floppy disk. But BBS were also great for PD (public domain), shareware, and message boards. And ASCII pictures... |

| 463726 | 2006-06-19 04:59:00 | This year. I got my Dell Dimension 1100 this year and hooked it up to the network. That was MY first internet for MY computer - Dad's was a lot earlier. | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 463727 | 2006-06-20 09:54:00 | Let me tell you how the old internet was like. It was like notepad style texts and layout out format. Not like nowdays. In the old days internet was expensive and boring. Not much people use it that time especially for kids except computer games. I am telling you it was real real boring. I use internet that time then I quit because I was busy for sometime and internet was boring to me except my father use it. | MTLance (6768) | ||
