| 701639 | 2008-09-01 07:29:00 | I have XP Pro and tried to install it but goes through the format process tells me to take out disk and restarts and still get the error message. Can't get to the recovery console, just where it can do a full format, format and backup hope this helps and this emachine doesn't have a floppy drive. Thanks hommer428 |

| 701640 | 2008-09-01 23:08:00 | OK. So I get totally aggravated and just swipe my hand across the keyboard and lo and behold Windows boots up and is running. Now the only problem is it is telling me I have no sound devices installed. It's not letting me add anything from the add hardware wizard and when I go to system information Under problem devices it says Ethernet Controller, PCI Device, PCI Simple Communications Controller, and Video Controller. The drivers for this devices are not installed. Any ideas on how to get my master volume and sound recorder up and running? | hommer428 (14136) | ||

| 701644 | 2008-09-02 01:26:00 | What I found is Intel Desktop Board. Thanks |

| 701645 | 2008-09-02 07:22:00 | do a google search for everest ultimate edition & download the trial version - it will tell you what model of intel desktop board you have as well as a lot of other information that you may find interesting, but probably won't be much help right now. Once you know what model your motherboard is, you should be able to get everything you need from the intel website. There are sometimes several choices for each device - everest should tell you which one you need & if that doesn't work, just try another one. |
