| 463814 | 2006-06-17 20:03:00 | I recently got a professional in to put eight screws in a mother board. Including "talking time" the job took about ten minutes. Plus travelling time etc. The charge $40. Which I considered very fair. Was expecting at least $100. In case anyone is wondering why. I had spent over an hour trying to do it myself. At leased I learned how to recapture "escaped" screws. It also took best part of an hour to change two sticks of ram. And before you laugh wait till you get into the late 70's and get "stiff fingers" and very poor eyesight. I have promised myself that the only job I will do in the future is to open the case. |

While you were clear in telling her there would be a charge for your services, I wonder if you gave her an estimate? If she feels overcharged, it could cause 'bad vibes'. |

I never charge for labour as I generally only do it for friends and family, occassionally a friend of a friend. I recall watching this movie called "pay it forward". Since then whenever I do a job, I always tell them to "pay it forward". |
