Misty is right. While i was in hong kong my mobile kept changing mobile providers. I was at the Hong Kong aiport when it detected it as "3" then it jumped to "peoples" then i went for a tour around and it changed to a different network. MAke sure that when your in australia your mobile is using Vodafone Australia and not Optus or Telstra clear because they are more expensive.I just went to see a panthlet and hour ago.lol. Something like 44 cents to text using vodafone australia and telstra clear or optus costs 65 cents. $1.10-$1.60 to make call to NZ while vodafone australia charges you as u were to make a national call in NZ |

| 463788 | 2006-06-19 08:08:00 | I just got back from aussie with a vodafone prepay. It was a nightmare when the nz vodafone said it will be ok, once i got there it didnt even work. In the end I got a aussie sim card and top up off the new number. That was much easier. | rob_on_guitar (4196) | ||
| 463789 | 2006-06-19 09:53:00 | I have Vodaphone 300 mins evenings and weekends. Not had a problem in Aussie but be aware that your vodaphone cellphone will seek out the best signal and use that service whether it be Optus, Telstra or Vodaphone. You can however over-ride that for each individual call therefore even if Optus has the best signal you can specify to use Vodaphone on that occasion. If you are in an area where Vodaphone is not available then you chose to either not make the call or use the other service for that particular call. It is more straightforward than it sounds !!! :D Misty ( the real Misty - not the imposter "Mistya" :groan: ) You'll find that for prepays, you can't select any network while auto-roaming, other than Vodafone. |
