463004 2006-06-14 23:07:00 The red is too red...........lighten it or make it a bit bigger? (the bar)

the effect otherwise looks simple, but bland in my opinion.........not saying thats wrong, but doesnt appeal for me to read it........ even tho i will likely need to, nothing apart from the red makes that page stand out for me.

:illogical

463005 2006-06-15 02:18:00 Cheers for the feedback people. I'm working on it - I'll try to include what everyone wants. So far the concensus seems to be that people hate the red, so I'll do something else for the top.

I'd slim the table a bit to say 800 pixels or so.What exactly do you mean by this? There aren't any tables in the design, and I'm not sure which part of the page you're referring to.

Cheers,
Bletch

463006 2006-06-15 02:46:00 As mentioned.. the red is too red.

The rest of the page seems good barring the titles (Contents, Notices, Stubs etc)

They are too bold. Take a look at these and compare them to see what I mean

Gentoo Howto (wiki) (gentoo-wiki.com)

A mates wiki (again Gentoo) (wiki.kaspersandberg.com)

The titles in both of these seem smoother, not hard in your face.

463007 2006-06-15 05:48:00 Version two now uploaded. Tazz, I did this before I read your post so your issue will be fixed in the next version. [edit: This version (mostly) fixes the Safari / Konqueror rendering bug.]

Cheers,
Bletch

463008 2006-06-15 06:25:00 Now that looks cool, Bletch. The top banner looks very smart, much nicer than before. I like the tab links as well.

Good to see the links down at the bottom of the page too.

463009 2006-06-15 07:06:00 The top bar looks great (with the purple 'lightning' effect')

Menu at the bottom looks good

I'm not too fussed on the floating menus but that's just me, others may like it

463010 2006-06-15 07:40:00 That does look nice. Good work. :)

I'm in two minds about the floating nav bar too ... I guess it saves having to page up/down or scroll heaps on long pages to access it.

463011 2006-06-15 08:30:00 Umm... what floating nav bar? I don't see one in any of my browsers (Opera, Firefox & Internet Explorer). Do I need Java installed to see it? FoxyMX (5)
463012 2006-06-15 09:59:00 There's no javascript in it, although it's not IE-compatible. Are you using version 1.5.0.4? george12 (7)
