463170 2006-06-15 00:32:00 I've got a friend that wants to reinstall windows, but because he has a pathetic cap, he is always on dialup speed & it takes ages to get all the windows updates.

There used to be a way to get Microsoft to mail out a CD full of updates to you. Do they still do that?

How about the Beta & trial version CDs? I could probably manage to download them without blowing my cap, but it would be more convienent to get them mailed to me.

463171 2006-06-15 03:03:00 I believe they do but you have to pay for the mailing which is about $15 US rogerp (6864)
463172 2006-06-15 03:58:00 www.microsoft.com

Click on the "Order the CD" link

It's $3.50 by standard post

463174 2006-06-15 08:10:00 Thanks KiwiTT - Thats what I need. I've got sp2 on a CD, but all the updates since still add up to a lifetime of waiting for people with pathetic caps.

How are those CDs set up? Can I extract a few of those ISOs & merge them into 1 CD?

i just saw it today and think it might be handy if you got several computer but only want to download an update once and not multiple times
and i guess it might be handy for you to get this too
since all the packing and stuff is done for you
so you can just get the package

NLite is very handy for compiling unattended CD's - so that you can install by placing the CD in the drive and come back later. Very handy for adding the patches to the service packs so you have one install CD/DVD

463177 2006-06-15 23:16:00 Autopatcher seems like a good way to get all the updates. Can I use nlite to slipstream all the updates from autopatcher into my install CD? Greven (91)
463178 2006-06-16 04:48:00 from nlite sight there's a section called addon
www.nliteos.com

from there scroll down and find Integrate Update Packs to your nLited CD
there's a few there..but not sure about autopatcher itself though
