465330 2006-06-23 00:05:00 Hi Team

I am looking for a source for 2-3 metres of Tygon tubing (or any other type of clear PVC tubing rated for at least 65°C ) in two sizes. I am also looking for T connectors so that I can tap-off from a direct line to insert a pressure meter (manometer). In-line joiners are also required for rejoining after the tap-off is removed

The two sizes are 5mm I.D. / 8mm O.D.; and 6mm I.D. / 9mm O.D. These translate to 3/16 I.D. / 5/16 O.D.; and 1/4 I.D. / 3/8 O.D.

I have looked around and Googled fairly extensively, and can find clear tubing but only in 10 metre rolls and not in the sizes I want. So far I have not found any source for the tap-offs or joiners.

It has now occurred to me that my requirements are probably not dissimilar to those involved with watercooling CPUs, though that tubing is probably larger diameter, however any source that can supply short lengths etc for that purpose may also be able to meet my needs.

Does anybody know a suitable stockist in Auckland or even beyond?

Cheers

LOL My lucidity has taken quite a hammering lately, hence the sudden burst of obscure questions. I think age is creeping up on me a bit, so maybe I need to regress back to being a teenager so that I can once again know everything.

Either that or advance to Jack's state of grace where you finally know nothing, don't give a toss, but just have fun playing with computers and what you don't know never hurts you.

Cheers

465336 2006-06-23 01:49:00 I know Mitre10 sells clear tubing by the metre, though I'm not sure if it's resistant to 65degrees. somebody (208)
465337 2006-06-23 01:51:00 Try pet shops - lots of different sizes of tubing, and cheap.

465339 2006-06-23 02:57:00 Why not a pneumatic equipment supplier, Billy? Pneumatic control systems use all sizes of plastic pipe. Their pipe is nylon, I think, but it's good for several hundred psi, and the connectors might be just what you want. Graham L (2)
