465214 2006-06-22 07:13:00 Hi

In my childhood days there use to be a pump to replace the cap of a 2.25l or a 1.5l drink cap so that each time you open the bottle you can pump air into it therefore the fizzy drink remains fizzy.

I can't seem to find these pump in the supermarket.

Would anybody know where i can find them?

Thanks

465215 2006-06-22 07:57:00 Yeah they were available everywhere years ago. Try those plastic specialty shops like payless plastics.

I have a feeling there is a good reason why they are not as popular now - they were crap.

I've bought mine about six months ago from either the Payless Plastics or the renamed Plastic Box shop the pump portion is shaped like a football, altho I've seen other shapes and you sqeezed it to pump up not up and down like the originals.

You still have to be carefull not to break the clip but otherwise there are good.

Oh I make a practice of opening the bottle by unscrewing the pump rather than releaing with the clip as it still the most vulnerable part.

465219 2006-06-23 06:09:00 how about those co2 gas thingy u can get from Brisco ? Just give it a shot when the frizz ran out :D SKT174 (1319)
465220 2006-06-23 07:25:00 i've heard that if you squeeze your half empty coke bottle until the bottle's content fills the space avaliable then it won't loose fizz as fast
that might be alternative to the pump thingy i guess

465222 2006-06-24 01:43:00 Heni's idea sounds to me as if it would flatten it faster, as the gas would escape the drink to repressurise the bottle. wotz (335)
