| 465674 | 2006-06-25 11:55:00 | Doh, what was I thinking :stare: Guess the woman must have been threatening me with you-know-what at the time :xmouth: But then again I have never been much of a gamer .. more a dabbler :p Hhhhmm.....Me confused, must be all that corn-bread. Anyhow, Melniboné, Elric, The Multiverse, The Black Sword (soul drinker) all apear in a series of (sometimes bloody confusing) books written by the greatest Acid freak fantasy author of all time, One Mr Micheal Moorcock (and he also wrote material/poetry for and performed on stage with Acid freak band Hawkwind, whom released an album under the name Hawklords....) Anyhow, Great books, Found at your local libary, Well worth the trip. Been 10 odd years since I read as many of em that I could find (and there are many), I have nearly digested the lot so Im gonna read em all again.... |

This powerful enchanted black blade is a member of a demon race that was forged into the form of a sword, and as such is a force of chaos and evil. Stormbringer's edge is capable of cutting through virtually any material not protected by potent sorcery, and it can kill any unprotected human in one swing. Its most distinctive features are that it is sentient (if not sapient), with a mind and will of its own, and that it feeds upon the souls of those it kills. When you said Melniboné wasn't in Oz, I had a very quick google and found this site (www.elricm.com) which also mentions the Elder Scrolls (which I assumed to be the game) |

No, I'm not stirring, I have as much objection to the raising and killing of vast numbers of land animals as with the killing of whales. In the west, much of this meat food goes to bloat the obese, or to make 'gourmet' meals, or gets discarded from restaurants. There is an element of hypocrisy in this whaling business. I just wonder how many anti-whalers go fishing, or enjoy duck shooting, or enjoy going out to shoot a deer and watch it die. A tricky question. Probably not cause I kind of object to eating pigs too, they're too smart. On the other hand.....bacon..... And I have seen sheep killed on the farm and the freezing works. The freezing works is worse I think. They know. All that time in trucks and arriving and waiting in the queue, they know all right. Thats cruel I think. Yes, too many people in the world - at the expense of animals. I don't approve of duck shooting or deer shooting either much either. It depends. Ok, fine if you shoot what you intend to eat. I have a friend who does that once or twice a year. He gets a pig or deer. And eats it all. Thats ok but most duck shooters round here think its an entertainment and slaughter the ducks without even eating them. Know a couple of people who do that. Thats sick and almost as bad as the whales too. There is an article about the whaling in the latest Listener. It points out its a face saving thing for the Japs now, the huge stockpiles they have, the fact most Japs don't approve either, its a minority taste like Tripe is here, and how the whales suffer. |

| 465683 | 2006-06-26 04:02:00 | I love my tripe and onions yum yum yum. Better than oysters. No one has mentioned this. Another reason the Japs say that they want to continue whaling is that they are depleting the fish supplies, which is alot of humbug. Most whales are balleen whales which eat plankton and small fish like sardines, where the tooth whales like the sperm whale eat mainly giant squid. Trevor :) |
