Protects silver from tarnishing.I wonder if brass will stay nice and shiny with a bit of WD-40 sprayed on it after a polish?

465316 2006-06-23 15:54:00 "I love the smell of 90-weight in the morning!"...from some obscure war movie SurferJoe46 (51)
465317 2006-06-23 16:18:00 OBSCURE WAR MOVIE??!! :horrified Thats from Apocalypse Now , and the line "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning" was part of the greatest speech in movie history (well according to the BBC (news.bbc.co.uk) it was). Great speech.

Although my favourite was the Drill Sgt in Full Metal Jacket.

You're not alone - I thought that too. I don't think a thread about Western Digital 40 gig drives would be quite as interesting though

465322 2006-06-24 02:08:00 Thanks for the list of things WD40 can do Joe! Who would have thought? I've been using it for years but not for most of the things you listed. I often use it to loosen stuck nuts and bolts (as well as for squeaks etc.) - I didn't see the loosening stuck nuts and bolts on your list....

465323 2006-06-24 03:13:00 There is a computer related use for WD-40 (and CRC 5-56, to bring in the opposition product) .

If the ribbon on an impact printer is getting a bit faded, a single drop of WD40 or CRC5-56 through a hole in the side of the ribbon cartridge can work wonders . (More is not better) .
