| 702059 | 2008-09-02 18:53:00 | Just over 6 months ago I did a cheapie upgrade of my computer so it now contains: Asus M2N-VM mobo with onboard graphics AMD 4800+ x2 CPU and 2*1GB RAM modules 1 Liteon DVD recorder 1 old Samsung CD drive 1 Seagate SATA II drive (I think around the 160GB capacity) I threw in my old PSU to power it all (Enermax 425). I am looking at adding another Seagate HD and am wondering if the load I am placing on the Enermax is getting to be near its limits. Or should I think seriously about buying a new PSU with a higher rating. If so, around what wattage should I be looking at? Computer is not used for gaming, just mainly normal desktop duties, as well as samba server, and soon to be fileshare server (hence the new harddrive). OS is Linux Currently I have all files on another computer, but am looking at cutting down on electricity and run one computer only full time (rather than 2) |
