702913 2008-09-06 04:41:00 I have a laptop here that runs OK under XP, but was wondering if 2000 Pro would run better on it. I have all drivers for both OS's.

Specs:
2.5GHz Celeron Processor
1GB DDR333 RAM
30GB HD
CD/DVD drive

I have a legal license for both 2000 (Pro) and XP (Home) - although the XP license is an OEM one and the 2000 one is a retail product.

It will be used in a home environment.

TIA

702914 2008-09-06 05:05:00 it has ample for XP. i would leave it, not worth the hassle of installing w2k. tweak'e (69)
702915 2008-09-06 05:08:00 Oh, I forgot to add it's going to be reformatted and sold... is XP still better? jwil1 (65)
702916 2008-09-06 05:14:00 If you're selling it, sell it with XP - you'll get a better price. Putting Win2k on it will make Average Joe think it's some kind of fossil. Erayd (23)
