2008-09-06 01:22:00 | Having difficulty connecting to my email from ihug/vodaphone. Been using the same client Eudora for last 5 years wihtout difficulty. But I have been unable to connect to the server since afternoon of fri 28th august. So I am wondering if they have changed something at the other end as a friday would seem to be a logical time to change something. Tried looking at the web site (can still connect to webmail ok) but there is nothing there. Anyone else notice anything similar? Is it possible to refuse access to a particular email client? (Laptop can still connect using Opera 9.25) Rather keep using Eudora as has all folders etc of 5 years of email. Thanks

2008-09-06 03:32:00 | No problems for us running 3 comps all have own email addresses with Ihug/Voda | gary67 (56) | |
2008-09-06 09:45:00 | No problem with the mail server but the newserver won't connect in the last few days. also a lot of pages showing old cached versions. I fixed the newsserver problem by setting the conection not to automatically get the DNS and manually added Igu/vodaphones DNS details. thread in nz.comp about it

It may work but more than likely it will log in and not download any mail. I have just used the username for the last 13 years and no problems. |

2008-09-06 12:36:00 | Wrong! Ihug no longer exists as from August. Log in name must be full address, and pop server is pop.vodafone.co.nz & not pop3.vodafone.co.nz

2008-09-06 19:08:00 | Wrong! Ihug no longer exists as from August. Log in name must be full address, and pop server is pop.vodafone.co.nz & not pop3.vodafone.co.nz This might apply for new customers possibly, not sure. I know what I am using for a login and I know it is working. I realize they changed their name but nothing changed for Ihug customers. They still keep their Ihug email address and all the original settings. I am receiving mail at the moment with just username and using pop3.ihug.co.nz

2008-09-06 19:26:00 | As I said earlier (long time ihug user) no problem here.BUT one problem I did have was due to me putting POP3 and not just POP when I tried to retrieve my mail once. Some auto mail checkers (kshowmail was one) put POP3 and it will not work.
