2008-09-05 21:05:00 | Does anyone know any way to make system restore automaticaly at a certain time? Is there a setting I dont know about or a program to make a safe point say once a day. When I need to use it I have had to restore up to 3 days ago and lose a lot of stuff on the restore. I have the setting on max 12% Thanks for any possible help

2008-09-05 21:12:00 | Create a restore point. if you want one Thats what its meant to do, if you go back so far If youre using it to remove programs you've installed , thats what add/remove programs is for

2008-09-05 21:46:00 | When I need to use it I have had to restore up to 3 days ago and lose a lot of stuff on the restore. What "stuff" are you losing ? System Restore doesn't remove data or files you create, emails etc, it will remove any programs that have been installed between the restore point and time its run, along with the registry settings. IF you need to run restore consistently then you have a problem with your system - running restore is not a permanent fix, better to fix the problem.

2008-09-06 12:43:00 | System restore is a waste of space, accumulates over time and bloats the system. much rather invest $70 in Acronis and do full image backups. | mzee (3324) | |

2008-09-06 20:57:00 | I agree. It can often fix the "funny" that occurs from time to time. Quick and simple. Also agree it is not a "backup" system, though.
