| 466612 | 2006-06-27 06:22:00 | does anybody know if i can connect a dvd player to a lcd monitor ? what i am looking to do is make a display screen that i can constantly roll pictures through to advertise - you know a mini version of the ones you see at airports duty free shops, holiday shops etc. I have looked at LCD tvs and they are all up around 700 bucks - a monitor can be bought for a little under 300. I'd prefer not to have to hook up a pc if possibel as i want to leave it running and be able to take the laptop away. cheers |

GO PORTUGAL That my friend is the holy grail of sport to us from the motherland (not wanting to wind the kiwi's up any more *ahem* but we don't really even care about rugby that much !!) And i can't see Portugal beating us (or anybody else for that fact in this tournament)...typical English blind faith for you there !! |

| 466620 | 2006-06-27 23:28:00 | It is possible to get a TV tuner unit that will take the DVD output and convert to computer monitor. They are often sold for game consoles. Might be pricey here ($150). | PaulD (232) | ||
| 466621 | 2006-06-28 05:52:00 | I wouldn't exclude the possibility totally. A DVD player I repaired once (a DSE 1912, I think) had the holes on the board for a 15 pin HD VGA connector. I might yet knock a hole in the case and solder in a connector, just for fun. ;) P.S. "dvd player vga" to Google will find mentions of such animals; even the NZ only button finds some links. Seek and you will find ... |
