703664 2008-09-08 21:25:00 Hi All

I have been given a Belkin Wireless router. I have Telstra Cable broadband and am going to install the router.

Is it just a case of pluging it all in and installing the router software or is there something else I should know?

Thanks

703665 2008-09-08 21:37:00 You will need to enter the ip / gateway / dns settings for your cable connection into the router setup, as these aren't autoconfigured. You'll also need to enable security on your wireless network, as most routers don't do this by default. Erayd (23)

Cool, how do I find these?

I will definitely be enabling the security .

703667 2008-09-08 22:16:00 TelstraClear should have given you these settings in the documentation for your connection. If you don't know them, you can copy them from the TCP/IP settings of your current connection, or you can call TelstraClear and they will provide them for you. Erayd (23)
