468984 2006-07-06 06:00:00 Right now, it's a good bet that some North Korean missile designers are twisting by their thumbs, if not worse . It may also be . . . . . . this is sheer speculation . . . . . . that some North Korean military officers are getting nervous about Dear Leader's latest "harebrained scheme . " :waughh:

Is Vice President Dick Cheney rubbing his hands in anticipation that a coup . . . . . . internal "regime change" . . . . . . might be afoot? It is extremely doubtful, in any case, that some Bush higher-up is thinking today about new ways to approach the Korean stalemate diplomatically .

Kim Jong-il shook the dice and rolled craps . If negotiations do get back on the agenda, he'll have to make the first move . :p

468985 2006-07-06 06:15:00 It has become totally clear that any small country accused by the US of having so-called "weapons of mass destruction" had better get some soon, and make sure that they work.

Of course, the very same weapons in the hands of the US and its "allies" are not weapons at all; they are instruments for bringing civilisation and democracy to countries which were civilised millenia before the Europeans.

468987 2006-07-06 07:03:00 Yea lets think about this with some cold hard non bias facts

"Evil" North Korea has invaded what 1? country in the last 50 years and just getting some ICBM's now .

"The beacon of hope for the free world" Gods United States has invaded over 30 countries in the last 50 years and has over 4000 ICBM's .

Can you say pronounce "Western Propaganda" SuferJoe46? Time to start thinking about things for yourself .

PS if someone cares to correct me on those figures please do, I can't be bothered looking them up .

468989 2006-07-06 09:22:00 If given two options to live in US of A or North Korea - it's a no brainer, US. Now I know who I'd rather had the missiles and it isn't North Korea. Twelvevolts (5457)

Of course you would rather live in the West, we control 80% of the worlds resources and only make up 20% of the worlds population, North Korea is also poor (and gee I wonder who is responsable for all those trade embargoes lol)

The West does this by controlling the balance of power (in the name of peace and democracy of course and they will DAM well invade other countries to get it!! lol)

Of course the US would have never invaded Iraq to steal Oil (in the name of stopping WOMD) if Sadam had Nuclear weapons.

Nuclear weapons and missiles in North Korea is a disaster for the US as it upsets the balance of power and threatens there living standards long term.

468991 2006-07-06 11:34:00 They all should just get it over and done with and have WW3.

At least it'll cut down the population a bit.

468992 2006-07-06 12:08:00 Yes, www.militaryphotos.net looks like an imminent threat, we must destroy them!

America's funny. Communism is evil. It should not exist. That is why there are trade restrictions against DPRK and Cuba. And yet China's a perfectly good state (After all, they booted the democratic ROC off the United Nations Security Council in place of the dirty commies). Anyone else find it a bit O_o?

468993 2006-07-06 15:32:00 Wait . . . you're missing the point the article made, after the obvious one, of course .

Since China was the designer of (OK, it's some old Russian designs, updated) those ICBM's, and they (China) knew they weren't ready for a world debut in the form of a launch/propaganda assault, and the fact that they failed, indicates just how weak the Chinese technology is along those lines .

Coupled with the fact that a bad little kid was out of control and thumbing his nose at Mr . Benefactor-son, shows how little containment of it's satellite countries China can exert .

Now it's an egg-on-the-face thing for China . . . they have to recoup their position as the scaremonger of the world and their position of evil empire has slipped a few notches .

What happens here: China has to feign injury to it's pride (in the form of the childish prank of a true despot (N . Korea)) to appease the world, while it really is injured in fact and will need to smack N . Korea around a little bit at the 6-Nations table, which China did not really want to attend and has to now . Loss of face and critical sales volume of manufactured items to the rest of the world will be throttled a while and this will put a big wrench in the Chinese earnings machine .

N . Korea will have to regroup and having lost a lot of clout with it's silly 4th of July fireworks show will now be reduced from a world threat to a spoiled little brat who has no meaningful WOMD's . . . just creative playthings that go pop 43 seconds after launch . This is not the technical admission a psycho-leader needs to have on his resume' when he needs to be viewed as an associate-in-training to China .

He and China have both lost a lot of face . China has to smile about it; N . Korea can smirk but knows after the profiling for the rest of the world to see, has to go home and face the music from it's only benefactor and muse .

Besides, I submit that if Mr . Jong-il had the ICBM pointed at some little insignificant country . . . like . . . er . . New Zealand, would the insult or perceived threat not make them (New Zealand) a little nervous?

It's like having a school bully with a head injury that makes him a little crazy that's disconcerting; he's lost his bully status but he still has the head injury . What will he try next? How will he recoup his old position of Napolean-isque stature, or lack thereof?
