468630 2006-07-04 19:22:00 What's the difference between a target and a quota?

The police should now be part of the taxation department.

I've lost any respect I ever had for the police.

And I haven't had a speeding ticket for four years. :yuck:

468631 2006-07-04 21:25:00 Maybe it's like a productivity measurement. Kinda like parking wardens. If you don't come back with x number of tickets, how do we know you haven't just been slacking off for the last 4 hours?

Not defending them; just an idea.

468632 2006-07-04 21:45:00 There is no difference, it's just semantics... a bit like calling a lemon a 'yellow fruit', makes it sound more palatable :xmouth: Shortcircuit (1666)

so if you haven't had a speeding tickets in four years what are you worried about?
I don't speed because I value my license and the money in my wallet to much.
Would you be saying the same thing if the police had a quota/target for other illegal activities?

468634 2006-07-04 21:51:00 No, plod. Maybe you mis-read. The way I read it is "..and I'm not just just saying this because I've had 10 tickets in the last 2 weeks" Peterj116 (6762)
468635 2006-07-04 21:52:00 What's the difference between a target and a quota?

Target vs Quota:

You are a quota when you go out to get in your car Jack, and you become a target when you leave your driveway. :D

Incidentally, I reckon you must be the most senior hoon on PF1, you are growing old disgracefully. Dragging off Holdens & Fords in your Honda and getting speeding tickets at your age. You ought to be proud of yourself!

You must have been quite a life-threatening experience in your younger days. Eat your heart out Metla.

Cheers

Until we generally see 100 kph as the maximum instead of a nice average on the highways they will just keep at it I suppose. Of course we could obey the rules and put hundreds of the boys back on the beat. Scouse (83)
