467757 2006-07-01 10:44:00 Hell, I turned 50 this year, was that pissed off I refused to celebrate it....

Anyway, my knees are starting to complain. They the cartlidge aches when I take stairs 2 at a time (as I always have) and that never used to occur.

When I run, I feel body flab oscillating in its own resonance, in my arms and butt. And Im fit as a buck rat, BRatio of .9 (Waist to hip ratio), Resting HRate of 48 (Doc thinks Im on medication)

Teeth are starting to call it quits (Despite dentist trip every 6mths)

Cant wait to see what the next 10yrs brings....

So, if youve been there or beyond, care to comment?

467759 2006-07-01 11:37:00 Old? Hmm, I heard old people are getting lots of problems. I hope you get enough medication Sir and enough diet. Those are the most important thing to keep you going. e.g. Vitamin C, get enough Vitamin C for yourself especially your age is turning old and lack of Vitamin C. 467761 2006-07-01 11:45:00 Oh..what was the question again?
By the time I scrolled down, if forgot.

It just gets worse....OK. Might shut up soon. On the internet article shows old people don't get enough Vitamin C and getting sick quite easily so the suggestion is that they need to get the right diet.

467762 2006-07-01 17:22:00 I really like a quotation from the (groan..I know!) Scriptures concerning old age and aging:

Ecclesiastes 12:1-7

1 Remember, now, your Grand Creator in the days of your young manhood, before the calamitous days proceed to come, or the years have arrived when you will say: “I have no delight in them” (anger of growing old); 2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark (death), and the clouds have returned (nothingness), afterward the downpour (mourning by survivors; crying) ; 3 in the day when the keepers of the house tremble (the hands esp: shaking and tremors), and the men of vital energy have bent themselves (the bones), and the grinding women (teeth) have quit working because they have become few, and the ladies seeing at the windows (eyes) have found it dark; 4 and the doors onto the street (mouth in ref. to speaking) have been closed, when the sound of the grinding mill (loss of digestion) becomes low, and one gets up at the sound of a bird (odd noises), and all the daughters of song (hard of hearing) sound low. 5 Also, they have become afraid merely at what is high (ladders, stairs, high places) , and there are terrors (of stumbling, falling) in the way. And the almond tree carries blossoms (grey hair), and the grasshopper drags itself along (physical weariness), and the caper berry bursts (loss of taste and appetite), because man is walking to his long-lasting house (death) and the wailers have marched around in the street; 6 before the silver cord is removed (loss of neural activity in the spinal cord), and the golden bowl (brain and skull) gets crushed, and the jar at the spring (heart) is broken, and the waterwheel for the cistern (stimulation of the heart) has been crushed. 7 Then the dust returns to the earth just as it happened to be and the spirit itself returns to the [true] God who gave it.

467763 2006-07-01 20:31:00 Just turned 50 ?
You're still an infant. Actualy you're in the prime of life.
I'm rapidly approaching 80.
Symptons: Half blind, half deaf, poor memory. Inability to screw in motherboard. Inability to screw anything, Inability to walk very far. No teeth.

Tha advantages: People don't ask you to do anything. They stop yabbering on about "smoking is bad for you". Can sit in front of computer all day. Can eat what I like, when I like.
No longer care about keeping up appearances.

Only problem: Wife just about as old as me. So have to do some things around the house.

467764 2006-07-01 20:33:00 I think that the sypmtoms of age should all be taken in good grace... with the one exception, and that's contrariness. It seems far too many older folk think that for whatever reason, their advancing age makes them all righteous, untouchable by others' opinions, and mere facts are simply obstacles that experience relegates to nonsense.

You have been warned!

467766 2006-07-01 21:20:00 Contrariness - is about all thats left once you're old in a lot of cases . So why not . Besides I don't think its limited to old people .

Well I'm not 50 but I have body flab oscillation too .

And my feet have disintegrated already . So that cuts the running down anyway, probably good for the body flab oscillating . . . .

And, well at least until you hit 100, theres always someone else worse off . . . .
