| 469283 | 2006-07-09 23:52:00 | Nevermind Ok, but I did see your original answer, The whole society is the sausage factory . and I disagree vehemently . It is my privilege to be closely associated with my local College, and every year we turn out the most amazing range of talented, capable and individualistic "sausages" you have ever seen . Their performances in sports, music, the arts and academically never cease to amaze me, and that achievement is distributed right across the diverse cultural and ethnic spread of our community . (Yes, even those from the so-called decile 1 areas . ) If life is approached with a sausage-meat mentality, then all you will ever see is uniform, dull and unexciting sausages, but if you celebrate diversity, effort, achievement, and personal growth, why! suddenly they don't look a bit like sausages at all, and not realising that they were expected by some to become sausages, they will find worthwhile and rewarding careers as the caviar of our society . Life is what you make it, and as soon as you abandon standards, be they dress, manners, speech or written expression, you fall into the maw of the bottom-feeding sausage factory, and life (as you could have known it) is at an end . Consider this my rant for the day . Cheers Billy 8-{) |
