Memo to Bruce or other PCW IT types, it would be really helpful if a proper link to FAQF1 was provided on the main page rather than the present convoluted path via the sticky. I would say not. All this talk of shredders and multiple formats and destroying the disk are just so much nonsense. All that is needed for 99.999% of the population is a simple format. :badpc: |

Deleting the Windows directory from DOS doesn't give any protection; but a format (with surface check) will be good enough . |
