703023 2008-09-06 23:28:00 Hi All.

I would like to play a DVD on the computer onto the TV. What do I need to do? Thanks. PJ

703025 2008-09-06 23:31:00 You need a videocard with video out and the video drivers for it, so you can enable it through its config / program / whatever the drivers installed

Altho depending on the videocard / drivers, not all let you view DVDs on TV.

703027 2008-09-07 04:18:00 Yea well then as Speedy says you need to check your video card to see if it has video out - either composite or s-video is what your TV will most likely have. CYaBro (73)

703029 2008-09-07 18:46:00 Both our CRT TV's have S-Video inputs (Mitsubishi and a GoldStar).. all I did was make sure my video card had an S-Video output (I had to buy a card), and the cable to connect them both.

Since mine was done with a Linux OS (GeexboX), drivers were preinstalled

703030 2008-09-09 06:09:00 I connect my computer to TV through S-video. TV only has component though, luckily the graphics card driver could set what type of signal get sent out so I just select component and that worked.

Had to buy some adaptor plugs from dse(!) to get the right combination of cable though...

703031 2008-09-09 10:35:00 I got one of these cgi.ebay.com.au ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The resolution isn't that good (old tv) but still good enough for DVDs.
