704062 2008-09-10 02:50:00 .... I was assuming he was meaning MP3's GR8Metal (14133)
704063 2008-09-10 03:38:00 assuming you meant mp3:
foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/)works fine for me
probably not the most user friendly though

or if you want to demux the audio track from a mpg file
I remember doing it a long time ago with TMPGEnc
after getting the mp2 file from mpg, you can make it into wav or whatever using foobar~

704065 2008-09-10 04:53:00 Hey Gr8Metal or anyone else

I've downloaded Quintessential and converted an MP3 to a WAV. Now the reason I want to do this is i'm mucking around with a piece of software which allows me to attach a music file to something else and then e-mail it to mates. Using Quint my 3.084 kb mp3 turned into a 33,859 kb wav which means that it's no good to e-mail. Am I missing something? I don't want hi-fi stereo/ultra digital quality - just as long as the music sounds reasonable. Any suggestions please??

704066 2008-09-10 04:55:00 wav are usually bigger than MP3 probably coz of compression

Like BMP is usually bigger than jpeg

704067 2008-09-10 05:06:00 As Speedy says, wav files way bigger that MP3 files. Do they have to be wav files? GR8Metal (14133)
