When I turn on my computer Monitor stays blank; hard drive light goes on, but nothing happens including not hearing the beep. If this happens I need to hold down the power button to turn the computer off. Usually have to do this 2 or 3 times before I hear the beep and my computer boots into windows.
Does anyone know whats gone wrong with my computer and how to fix this problem? |

Sounds like something theat happened to me a while ago. If you're comfortable opening the computer, check the power connector (the end that plugs into the motherboard). A wire in mine had wiggled loose from the plastic housing, causing the PC to go into a 'hang' state. Had power, but didn't boot. I think it was an orange wire that came out in mine. |

As Geekster suggests check cables etc. Could also be that the power supply is faulty! |

Also clean dust out of the case, and re-seat the RAM module(s). |
