| 469728 | 2006-07-10 04:17:00 | Generally 1GB is the highest you're going to be able to buy, but the maximum you can put in your computer depends on your motherboard. Most new ones support up to 1GB RAM modules but some older ones may support only 512MB sticks. EDIT: These maxima are per slot in case it wasn't clear. You must also get the correct type of RAM for your computer. Most now use DDR but some newer motherboards can also take DDR2 memory. Very old ones may use normal SDRAM. |
