| 469683 | 2006-07-09 12:30:00 | That's one way to screw up a html/css template. Get some proper hosting, as others have mentioned, then you wont get all that crap code inserted by the server. Ask someone for a domain name for your birthday, or splash out $30 yourself. |

| 469684 | 2006-07-09 12:51:00 | Its one thing to have a snappy design and good look. But the primary objective of having a website is for people to use it. To use it they have to find it, to find it they will most probably need a search engine. Now heres the kicker, in its present form a search engine cannot index your site. Therefore you will be lost on the net. Pop your url into gritechnologies.com Click on diagnostics and see what google sees on your site.... yup .... nothing ...... if the spiders see nothing they index nothing. Therefore you need text, about 50 words, at least, tightly written that tells us (and more importantly, the spider) what your site is about. the tags you used.... Title: William Lower X-Meta-Description: Play games, chat with a virual llama, listen to music, drag letters on the fridge with people all over the world, heaps of other free things. X-Meta-Keywords: fridge, fun, games, lower, music, photos, screensavers, william need to be reproduced in the text on your page, only if your links and site actually contain that information (so "sex sex sex" do no good in the tags.) Warning: No h1, h2 or h3 Headings were found. Your title tag needs to reflect your website content not your name, its ranked high in google so important. (actually so should your URL) You need to use H1 and H2 tags at least as they are also considered very important. Do this for each of your pages, I can help with the text if you want. Write your text, pop it in the poodle, to check it then use a keywords tool to see which keywords google actually sees. This will check that google will index you exactly for the terms you want indexed. This side of webdesign is far less popular than the graphic side but is at least as important, and the primary reason that so many websites suck in the search engines and get poor rankings. Are those frames on your sub pages? That alone may kill your site, as google and other engines have trouble indexing them. Your links page for example is a beginning of how your should ahve your site, but I can"t put it in the poodle because its in a frame. You would be better just making plain vanilla html pages for each page you make, or using CSS for continuity across pages rather than frames. |
